You’re on the phone with whom you perceive as a prospective customer. You’re trying to persuade him that what he needs more than anything at the moment is your gem, your proudest solution and a compilation of years of hard earnest work. You pour all your passion trying to sell your product and in a blink of an eye your so-called ‘prospective customer’ hangs up the phone.
You feel upset. Your ‘prospective customer’ doesn’t even wait to hear your product’s ‘X’ factor, nor does he bother saying anything. If you’re lucky the only words that you may hear would possibly be muttered words of ‘Hello’ and ‘No thank you’. You ask yourself why. Your product is as good if not better than what’s out there in the market being sold in bulk. Every time you try you fail and one by one your prospects are falling off the wagon. The plain fact is you have no idea how to stop it.
In the end you’re forced to face the music, you have failed. You turn to your spouse and like your very own shining light she keeps the flame burning in you, but you know that inside she is utterly disappointed, not mad at you, but nevertheless hurt and worried. You worry about your marriage, and so does your spouse. You wonder how you’re ever going to provide for your family. Your friends tell you to stop what you’re doing and find a so-called ‘proper job’, one that has fixed pay, but you know it’s just not right for yourself.
Well fret no more. You’re not alone in this. Nearly everyone in the industry faces exactly the same problem as you. One thing in common between all of you is that you guys keep chasing customers, and in the world we live in, when you’re chased you run. It’s simple logic.
The first thing you need to do is to change the way you look at Multi-level Marketing (MLM). Instead of searching for and persuading customers to buy your product, let them seek for your services. Doesn’t it sound easier and cheaper already? Imagine sitting at home in your comfy chair while potential customers outside are desperately looking for you. You have the luxury of choosing your customers, those who are worth your time and worth more than they think they are. Now instead of fighting a losing advertising battle with mega companies for your share of the market, the emergence of the internet has to an extent laid down the opportunity for you to compete on a level playing field. Customer can now choose from a much wider market, whether it is a huge established company or a small time businessman.
This leads us to Attraction Marketing. Statistics show that it costs five times more to win a new customer than to keep one. Convincing customers that they need a product is an expensive and tedious process, whereas convincing customers to choose your product over a competitor’s is a much cheaper exercise. The reason being is that customers in this case have already identified their needs and are confident that they will be met and thus it is up to you to attract them to your den in the market, whether it is in the comfort of your home pc, office, or anywhere else in the world!
In short if potential customers have needs they can simply search for a product or company which they believe will satisfy their needs. So if you have a solid business model and effective marketing strategies in place, expect a call or two within the very near future. It’s as simple as one, two, and three; I mean after all, they came looking for you. Just make sure that in this instance once they chase you, don’t run
